Diocesan news: Vision Refresh latest

Since June 2019 we have been listening and distilling what our county vision  - God for All - might look like in 2021 and beyond.

It’s a vision to release the whole people of God for the whole mission of God for the transformation of Cumbria in the name of Jesus, which focuses on four areas:

  • Follow Daily (discipleship),
  • Speak Boldly (evangelism),
  • Tread Gently (care for the environment), and
  • Care Deeply (social action)
These four areas were approved by all four covenanted partner denominations this Autumn and we, as a county, have now entered into a new phase of work looking at how this vision can help to empower and come alongside local people, congregations and Mission Communities to support them in their work.

The vision refresh process began with a call to 100 days of prayer and as we enter this new phase of work, the ecumenical spirituality group have written a new prayer to help as we continually seek God’s guidance as we live out the vision he has given us.

Bishop Emma said: "It has been brilliant to see and hear the way God has spoken to us through this vision refresh process. Thank you to all those who have responded, prayed and listened. Please join me in continued prayer, as we make further plans to shape and communicate the refreshed vision across our county, for the glory of God and the building of his Kingdom among us”.

Much more will follow in the coming weeks and months.
