Notable Events

  • 08.03.2018 Open Forum evening

    Invited speakers (including the Archbisop of York) debate a topical issue and receive questions from the audience. It takes place in St Mary's Church, Ambleside from 7.30 pm to 9pm.

  • 09.03.2018 Moving Mountains

    The Moving Mountains Mission begins on Friday evening (9th March) and continues throughout the weekend until Sunday afternoon (11th March). There will be a variety of activities in a number of local venues. Please look in 'News' tab for the full programme. The programme is also an insert in the Parish Magazine.

  • 25.03.2018 PALM SUNDAY

    This is a Holy Coomunion service with adramatised reading of the last week of Jesus' life at 11am at St Mary's

  • 29.03.2018 Sedar Meal- a shared meal in the Wesley room at the Parish Centre at 7pm

    This is a re-enactment of the Passover Meal Jesus had with his disciples the night before he died. It will include symbolic elements, bitter herbs, roasted eggs etc and cooked lamb...if you want to know more contact Rev. Beverley Lock.All are welcome but please let us know you are coming so there will enough for everyone.

  • 30.03.2018 Good Friday ecumenical service in the centre of Ambleside

    The ecumenical service organised by Churches Together in Ambleside District (CTAD) will take place in the centre of Ambleside. Before that you can join the Good Friday Walk of Witness The walk will start in Langdale – meet outside High Close Youth Hostel (main entrance) at 9am to walk with a cross (via Loughrigg Terrace) to Ambleside. Then meet others outside St Mary’s Church at 11am for a procession through Ambleside for the ecumenical service.

  • 30.03.2018 Good Friday reflective service at 2.30pm

    A quiet with time to reflect on the events of Good Friday and the Easter story. The service will be at 2.30 pm at St Mary's Church, Ambleside

Weekday Services

  • Every Wednesday at 10:00am Holy Communion

    Informal Communion Service without music, usually in the Wordsworth chapel within St Mary's for 30 minutes. A small but very welcoming congregation. On the fourth Wednesday of the month there is also a communion service at Millans Court at 11am
