Sunday Services

There are two Sunday morning services at St Mary's. There is also an ecumenical service in the evening at the Baptist chapel on Compston Road

  • 08:00am Holy Communion

    Informal said (no hymns or songs) Communion Service usually in Wordsworth Chapel at St Mary's Church.
    Usually 35 minutes long.

  • 11am Holy Communion

    Common Worship style Holy Communion with mix of traditional hymns and modern worship songs.
    Every first, third, fourth and fifth Sunday at 11:00 AM for 1 hour and 10 minutes.

    The fifth Sunday Holy Communion service is a joint Anglican, Methodist and Baptist service.

  • 11am Service of the Word

    Every second Sunday for 1 hour. Has a mix of traditional hymns and modern worship songs.
    Includes This Time Tomorrow where we celebrate our Christian lives Monday to Saturday. Second Sunday Songsters lead the singing.

Week Day Services

There is a Holy Communion Service each Wednesday.
On the fourth Wednesday of the month there is also a Holy Communion service at Millans Court at 11am

  • 10:00am Holy Communion

    Informal Communion Service without music, usually in the Wordsworth chapel within St Mary's for 30 minutes. A small but very welcoming congregation.

Crumpet Service

Every Monday afternoon during term time.

  • 3:15pm Crumpet Church

    This is an informal family service, including modern worship songs, story, activities and games and time to chat.
    The children (and adults) can choose toast or crumpets for a snack, along with squash or tea and coffee.

CHRISTMAS SERVICES

  • Thursday 20th December at 7pm Carol Service

    This is an ecumenical Carol Service with a mix of popular carols and readings.

  • Christmas Eve at 5.30pm Christingle

    This is a well loved family service where the children enjoy singing by candleight as they hold their Christingle.

  • Christmas Eve at 11pm Midnight Holy Communion


  • Christmas Day at 11am Family service with Holy Communion

    This will be a service for all the family.There will be Holy Communion at the end for those who wish to stay
